I’m Moving the Porch. Bring Your Chair.
The Front Porch with PJ Hamilton has a new home, and I’d really like you to come with me.
Hi friends,
I have a little housekeeping news from The Front Porch, but I promise nobody has to pack a box. You may, however, want to bring your chair. 😊
Over the past several months, I’ve been thinking a lot about where I want my stories to live and, even more importantly, how I want to stay connected with the people who read them.
So I’ve decided to move The Front Porch with PJ Hamilton from Beehiiv to Substack.
Why?
Because The Front Porch has become more than a place where I send out a story every Tuesday. I want it to become a real home for the stories, a place where you can find older pieces, join the conversation, share your own thoughts and experiences, and hopefully feel a little more connected to the community growing around them.
And I would really love for you to come with me.
If you’re thinking, But PJ, I don’t have Substack and I really don’t need another thing...
I hear you. 😂
You do not need a Substack account or the Substack app to read my public stories. You can simply click the link I send and read them on the web, just like you would any other article.
But I would love for you to subscribe with your email address.
That way, when I pull up a chair on Tuesday and send out a new story, it will arrive right in your inbox. You won’t have to remember to check another website, follow another social-media account, or wonder whether an algorithm decided you were allowed to see it.
And subscribing is free.
I’m not disappearing from Beehiiv overnight. I’ll use this space for a little while to make sure everyone who wants to come along knows where to find me. But going forward, The Front Porch with PJ Hamilton will live on Substack.
And the porch already has a new story waiting for you.
Hold, Baby, Hold started with a childhood fishing trip with Daddy, a cup of worms and one highly questionable potted meat sandwich. 😂
Somewhere between fishing, childbirth, business decisions and a lesson I apparently needed more than fifty years to understand, those three little words became something entirely different:
Sometimes your Plus One is to hold.

So come see the new porch.
Subscribe while you’re there so we don’t lose each other.
And don't worry. I saved your chair. ❤️

Until next time…I’ll leave the light on.
